Vancouver Aquarium (Museum)

No trip to Vancouver is complete without a visit to the Vancouver Aquarium in Stanley Park. Home to more than 70,000 sea creatures, it ranks among the best in North America. Exhibits feature belugas, dolphins, sea otters, Steller sea lions, sharks, sea turtles, octopuses, and a large variety of other marine animals representing diverse ecosystems. The Amazon Gallery recreates the atmosphere of a tropical rainforest populated with sloths, exotic birds, anacondas, caymans and tropical fishes such as stingrays, electric eels and piranhas. The new Frogs Forever? Gallery draws attention to the imminent mass extinction of amphibians all over the world. The Aquarium runs a variety of daily shows and feature programs, including the all-time favourite Dolphin Show, Discover the Reef Sharks, Sea Otter Feed, and many others. The Aquarium also offers a variety of programs geared towards families with kids, including the unique Sleepover program, an overnight adventure of exploring the Aquarium after it closes its doors in the evening.
