Vancouver Art Gallery (Museum)

Vancouver Art Gallery is the fifth largest art gallery in Canada and is housed in a historic provincial courthouse building in the heart of downtown Vancouver. The permanent collection, displayed on a rotating schedule, includes over 9,000 works by Canadian and international artists. Of particular interest are the paintings of Emily Carr, a renowned BC artist, and the Group of Seven, considered the founders of Canadian contemporary art. The VAG regularly hosts touring exhibitions, public lectures, and workshops. The on-site Gallery Café has an excellent outdoor patio and offers an elegant dining experience, while the Gallery Store features a large selection of books, posters, and giftware.
