Whistler Blackcomb Ski Resort (Downhill Skiing)

Whistler Blackcomb Ski Resort is the official Alpine Skiing Venue for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Located in the village of Whistler, 2-hour drive away north of Vancouver on the scenic Sea to Sky Highway, this premiere ski and snowboard resort is the largest in North America and one of the best in the world. With over 3,307 hectares (8,171 acres/ 33 sq km) of skiable terrain on two large mountains (Whistler and Blackcomb), 200 marked runs and trails, and a vertical drop of more than 1500 meters (1 mile), Whistler Blackcomb is a dream destination for skiers and snowboarders from all over the world.
The fun doesn’t end with the snow. In summer Whistler Blackcomb is home to the world-class Whistler Mountain Bike Park that offers 50 first-class lift accessed trails to thousands of mountain bikers every year. Several ski lifts, equipped with bike racks, are used to transport bikers up the mountain to the start of the trails.
The Peak-to-Peak Gondola, a recent addition to the resort, offers all visitors a thrilling ride between the two mountains at high elevation and stunning views of the majestic Whistler valley, mountains and glaciers. The village of Whistler has all the services, including fine dining, accommodations, and shopping.
