Submitted by Guest on July 6, 2014

HI just want to say that we camped at Chehalis over the long weekend and had a great time .The camp host there work very hard at keep the place clean .We did witness a fellow kind of complain about walking in to visit but this is a rule and safety for our kids as it not a long walk to any site .NICOLE is a great host but is firm with all campers on the rules but that her job there bathrooms are spotless and TONY is always around working and cleaning up after campers.SO I guess if you're looking for a well ran family campground then this would be the place to go keep up the good work and we will be back next long weekend SUE !

Camp sites themselves are great, however the hosts suck. The last few times that we stayed there we were treated like shit and if we didn't like it we could leave.

WE were camping at Chehalis in Sept when we found out from some of the campers they that had received a seniors discount. We asked them "Where did you see that there was such a discount?" They told us that it was on the back of the receipt they give you after you pay your fee. No where else it is written about this discount. Not on the web site or at the campground entrance. When we brought this up to the host, we were told no refund as it was up to us to tell them that we were seniors. Husband is 82 and I'm 75. Well she finally gave us a discount, but were told we had to leave because we were being aggressive. The rules are made on the host's whim, whatever she feels like for that day. Anyway, seniors speak up for your rights.

The Best Camp Sites Around

Submitted by Guest on August 1, 2011

We camp at Chehalis at least 5 time a year. It has gone from the worst looked after to the best. The summer hosts are awesome people. Just remember that it's not a party camp site but a family site and there's no problem.

Back to its WONDERFUL state! Thank you MGC!

Submitted by Guest on July 7, 2011

We just returned from our trip there. We used to go to Chehalis all of the time for a close peaceful getaway. That was in the days that hosts Gary & Ruth had the contract, and they ran it beautifully. When we heard that they had lost the contract to the Chehalis Native Band we were sad but thought we'd still "give it a go"........WRONG!!!!! We were dismayed at the state of the site: garbage, broken glass everywhere, filthy broken down outhouses, & the list goes on. We never even saw a host/manager till our 3rd day there when they came to collect money. We asked that TP be provided for the outhouses and were promised same....never saw a shred. Like, what were we paying fees for?? Swore we'd never go back & filed a complaint with Tourism BC. Then we heard that MGC had taken over, and what a relief! The place is great, the hosts wonderful, the outhouses repaired & clean, and not a shred of glass or garbage anywhere. It was so peaceful and enjoyable, that even the mosquitos seemed secondary. We will continue to go back there as long as there are good hosts that look after the place and keep out the rowdies. So fair warning to "party animals"...don't bother!!! This is a campsite that is geared to peace and quiet. It is well worth the $13.00/night for the VERY enjoyable peaceful getaway!

Great place to relax and get away

Submitted by Guest on July 5, 2011

This site is wonderful for those wanting a place to R&R with no rowdies. The new site hosts are AWESOME!! They are kind and helpful. They even have firewood so I don't have to bring my own!! They are firm with the rules to create an atmosphere of enjoyment for all. I LOVE that. I have little kids who need their sleep and noisy folks into 2am just doesn't work for us. Thanks to the hosts for making this place great for young families who need their sleep and a fun place to hang out!!

A sweet place to camp ....... natural beaty

Submitted by Guest on May 15, 2011

A super place to stay, safe and extremely well run camp ground. The couple that manage it are kind but firm in that all leave with a memorable camping experience.

For a clean, safe and natural camping experience close in proximity to Vancouver this is a great selection.

Be respectful to the outdoors. I went with group last summer and we went ahead of time to talk to the park hosts. We told them we didn't want to worry about bothering anyone and we were told if we camped onthe other side of the bridge we would have more privacy. So we camped in the last three spots and had a great time.

The only thing that bothered us was the garbage we had to pick up from the beach. Mostly cigarette butts. They may be small but it is still garbage.

The new camp host overreact!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Submitted by Guest on August 29, 2010

we went camping this weekend to chehalis river with a group is 16,, 18-19 year olds! we were told at midnight that we were talking to loud and we should be respectful of our neighbours by the camp host............. we appoligized not knowing it was after 11pm and begain to whisper then went to bed at 2 am with no more problems! the next morning the camp host came back and thanked us for being cooperative and that the neighbours all said they heard nothing from our group after we were warned! the host said we earnrd the right to stay another night! :) we paid 79 dollars for the 1st and 2nd night! 1 1/2 hours later we were swarmed by 4 cars ...8 cops and were told we had 15 mins to pack our stuff and to get out! the reason some of our group was standing in the river yelling and throwing trash in the river! what really happened one person threw a full beer into the river and it floated down to the other person standing in the river! So long story short........... the 2 old camphosts who seem to be so nice charged us for a second night with every intention to kick us out pocketed the money with no refund and called the cops on us
