Green Lake Provincial Park (Emerald Bay)

Green Lake Provincial Park is composed of 11 separate parcels of land located at different points around the 14-km long Green Lake. The park has three campgrounds: Arrowhead (16 campsites) and Emerald Bay (51 campsites) are located on the north shore of Green Lake, while Sunset View, with 54 campsites, is found on the south shore of Green Lake. Green Lake owes its distinctive turquoise tint to high algae content as well as to glacial silt deposits. The waters of Green Lake are quite warm, and swimming can be enjoyed from the beaches at all three campgrounds as well as at the day-use areas. The lake is also popular for boating and waterskiing. The surrounding area is typical of Cariboo ranchland and consists of open rolling hills dotted with aspen groves. Cycling can be enjoyed on the many kilometres of quiet country roads in the vicinity of the park. There are several guest ranches located nearby that offer horseback rides. Excellent fishing opportunities are available at numerous lakes along Highway 24, a short distance to the north.

Emerald Bay campground, with 51 campsites, is located in a lightly forested area off the North Shore Road, 10 km northeast of the Arrowhead campground. Emerald Bay has a sandy beach, a covered picnic shelter, and a playground.
