Kikomun Creek Provincial Park

Kikomun Creek Provincial Park is located on the eastern shore of Lake Koocanusa, a large man-made reservoir created when a dam was put on the Kootenay River in the state of Montana. In addition, there are 6 small “kettle” lakes in this park. The main campground is located between Hidden Lake and Surveyors Lake and offers 105 vehicle-accessible campsites. Kikomun Creek Provincial Park is an ideal spot for family vacations, with a multitude of recreational activities available. Surveyors Lake has a sandy beach, and swimming in its warm waters is very pleasant during the hot summer days. Canoeing and fishing for rainbow trout and smallmouth bass can be enjoyed in Surveyors Lake, while boating and fishing for kokanee is possible in the Koocanusa Reservoir. This park features an excellent system of trails suitable for hiking and mountain biking. In the winter, these trails are used for cross-country skiing. While staying here, visitors will have many opportunities to spot wildlife, such as elk, deer, squirrels, and painted turtles.
