Lockhart Beach Provincial Park

This tiny park is found on the eastern shore of the south arm of Kootenay Lake, between Crawford Bay and Creston. The park features a lovely sandy / rocky beach with gorgeous views of the lake framed by the mountains. Swimming, canoeing, and kayaking are very enjoyable at this location; fishing can also be rewarding since Kootenay Lake is famous for its large kokanee, rainbow, and bull trout. Visitors here can hike the Lockhart Creek Trail, which leads 15 km into an untouched wilderness in the Purcell Mountains. This park is managed by the Ministry of Transportation, and services may differ from those offered at other BC provincial parks.
