
McDonald (Gulf Islands National Park Reserve)
McDonald Park has been a part of the Gulf Islands National Park Reserve of Canada since 2003. This small park is conveniently located near the Swartz Bay ferry terminal at the end of the Saanich peninsula and is primarily used for overnight camping. Visitors here can take delight in exploring the nearby seaside community of Sidney with its plentiful cafes and crafts shops. The world-renowned Butchart Gardens are just 18 km away, and Victoria, with its multitude of cultural attractions, is 30 km to the south.

Camping Information
Fees
Vehicle Accessible Camping Fee: $13.85 per party / night. A camper “party” includes up to 8 people with a maximum of 4 persons who are 16 years of age or older, with one vehicle; for an additional vehicle, the fee is $6.90.
Operation Dates
Campround is open from March 15 to October 30. Campground is closed and the gate is locked during the off-season.

There are fire rings at each campsite. Firewood can be purchased from the Park Facility Operator.
